Gillian & Casey - A Summer Wedding on Old Mission Peninsula

Chloe Leach August 16, 2018

Gillian met the "Burrito Boy" for the first time in 2006, while Casey was skillfully rolling burritos at the Blue Corn Cocina in the Vanderbilt cafeteria. Thanks to their mutual friend Eric Chung, Casey and Gillian became friends in college.  That friendship eventually blossomed into a romance in 2008, at the beginning of Gillian's senior year.

Over the next 8 years, Gillian and Casey trailed one another from Nashville to Chicago to Detroit, coordinating jobs and school in order to be near each other.

Then, on December 10th, 2016, Casey lied to Gillian for the first time ever. He convinced her that his intramural flag football team had made it to the Championship Game (although they had actually been knocked out three weeks prior due to injury, cheap shots, and poor officiating. Casey was not bitter). When Gillian arrived at Nichols Arboretum, she saw Casey standing next to a picture-perfect view and dressed in a suit. He took a knee to propose, and of course the rest would become history! At that moment, Gillian’s pup Ted came bounding out of the woods, clad in a little tuxedo to celebrate the occasion.

July 14, 2018: Gillian and Casey chose the natural splendor of Northern Michigan as the setting for their long-awaited wedding day. The historical Peninsula Room is surrounded by vineyards, and perched on a hill overlooking stunning Grand Traverse Bay. With the warm sun shining and their dearest friends and family surrounding them, Gillian and Casey made their vows to each other along the shimmering water of the bay. Here's just a little glimpse into the magic of their beautiful day.

Lauren & Mark - An Exquisite Vineyard Wedding at Aurora Cellars - 5/26/18

Chloe Leach June 18, 2018

Mark and Lauren - or MoLo, as they are affectionately known to their circle - have decidedly set the standard for the modern power couple. Each their own driven and determined individuals before they met, they had already mastered the art of taking hold of life and living to its fullest. Once they joined forces, well, the rest became history.

Exhibit 1: Lauren. a lovely and quick-witted personal trainer and Pilates instructor not for the faint hearted. Exhibit 2: Mark. An ambitious orthopedic resident with a timely week off work and a clever mother who decided to set him up for a session with the aforementioned personal trainer. This session set things in motion which would eventually bring Lauren and Mark to the center of each other’s universe. As Lauren put it, “I kicked his ass, and he fell in love”. This thoughtful pair have no shortage of adventure, affection, and gusto for life between the two of them. In fitting fashion, their wedding day was absolutely packed full of meaningful details and treasured memories honoring the friends and family that surround and support them both. As a wedding gift, Lauren presented Mark with a box full of significant items she had saved and collected since their relationship began, including the key to their first apartment, and the first love notes they ever exchanged. Mark had a necklace custom made for Lauren, engraved with her new initials. Their emotional ceremony was a beautiful tribute, incorporating anecdotes and loving advice from their family and friends. The couple put out a thoughtful display of photographs of them with each of their guests, welcoming them to fill up the display with new Polaroid photos over the course of the celebration. After an incredible gourmet dinner and a blazing red sunset over the rolling hills of vineyards, the Dan Rafferty Band rocked the dance floor into night.

"Look and think before opening the shutter. The heart and mind are the true lens of the camera."

― Yousuf Karsh

“When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.”
― Ansel Adams

“All photographs are memento mori. To take a photograph is to participate in another person’s mortality, vulnerability, mutability. Precisely by slicing out this moment and freezing it, all photographs testify to time’s relentless melt.”
― Susan Sontag
